Series & Participants
The Puerto Rico Grand Prix consists of five to six different diverse competitions. These include international participation from some of the United States most recognized series and the participation of some of Puerto Rico distinct categories.

The event hosted in 2003 was the closing event for The Trans Am Series. The Trans Am Series which name comes from Trans American is the oldest continuously running series in the United States . Vehicles use engine combinations that consist of over 650 horse power with a weight of 2800 pounds. Its slogan "American Muscle cars against the World" comes from the high participation of American built machines. Last years crop consisted of Ford Mustang's, Chevrolet Corvette's, Chevrolet Camaro's, Jaguar XKR's, Panoz Esperante's and Qvale Mangusta's.

Street Touring which demonstrated to be Puerto Rico's fastest growing race run a series of 6 categories in one race. Featuring local talent in a 40 car field, the categories consisted of joining high output automobiles with lower horsepower cars for a true racing combination. Fluctuating between Chevrolet Corvette, BMW M3, BMW 328, VW Jetta, Subaru Impreza and the Subaru STi among many others we get a well balanced field racing for the overall winner and the individual category winners.

The MotoClub is Puerto Rico's local Motorcycle club consisting of over 15 motorcycles. The categories consist of 750 and 1000 motorcycles in the stock or modified divisions. Truly a sight to see as the high horsepower motorcycles reach speeds of over 150 in what will be the PRGP race track. |
